SMALL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
Presented by Stephanie Wilson, Magnolia Realty
If you haven’t heard about Goober Bub’s, do we have a treat for you just in time for opening weekend! Located in Justin, Goober Bub’s Orchard and Bakery is a local farm with “U-pick” strawberries fresh from the field. Bring your kids, neighbors and friends to enjoy this unique experience.
How did this place come to be? Well, Owners Tim and Jeanna Sutton are local Argyle residents (and Mrs. Sutton is a beloved, legendary teacher at Argyle High School!). When they would go to Branson they always enjoyed picking blueberries and the taste of fresh muffins. Tim researched berries and with some encouragement from Jeanna they took a leap of faith and bought the land to start Goober Bub’s Orchard and Bakery.
There’s more than just strawberries at Goober Bub’s. Their bakery has freshly baked treats, drinks and apparel to choose from. Strawberry season usually runs 4-7 weeks depending on weather, so it’s best to check social media before heading to the farm. Don’t worry about bringing a container, they provide “picking containers” so it’s easier to calculate weight at the end of your strawberry picking.
For a one of a kind experience, check out Goober Bub’s this weekend (or the next few) to get your hands on the best strawberries around. Afterall, new strawberries are ready every 2-3 days. Psssst… a little Argyle Insider information: Blackberry picking is coming in May!
